Introducing The Topps Jukebox

Hello, friends!  If you're reading this, you've stumbled across my little piece of the internet dedicated to my favorite hobby -- collecting baseball cards!  Topps baseball cards to be precise. Welcome, and I hope you'll stop by occasionally if not often.

I opened my first wax packs when I was seven years old ('87 Topps!) and I haven't looked back since.  Though the focus of my collecting pursuits has changed over time, one thing has remained constant -- my devout loyalty to Topps.  Which may not seem like a big deal nowadays since Topps has the exclusive license for MLB trading cards.

Rest assured, however, when there were seemingly 500 different sets released every year back in the '90s and early '00s, the regular flagship Topps cards just meant more to me.  Probably because my father instilled in me such brand snobbery when I was a kid.  He didn't see the allure of the cards those other card companies were churning out, and always told me Topps cards were the only ones that mattered.  Or something along those lines.  As usual in my boyhood days, I was probably only half paying attention to him!

So, what's the deal with this blog? you might be asking. Well, it's not my first stab at baseball card blogging.  I kind of burned myself out during my previous attempt.  Most likely because I was too unfocused.

But, I still had the itch to do something about cards in blog format.  Thus, here I am presenting to you one random Topps card from my collection each day -- or as close to such a schedule as life and attention span permits. I make no promises except that when I do publish a post it'll feature a nice, clean scan of the card and a little blurb to accompany it replete with info or commentary or both.

If you stick around, I think it'll be great relationship -- very little production effort on my part and very little time investment on your behalf.

Let's give it a try, shall we?

I hope you enjoy each card as much as I have -- and continue to.

Sincerely,
M.Kaz
