The Jim Gantner section in the Topps library can be broken down into two distinct eras: Before Glasses (BG) and With Glasses (WG)....This one happens to be very early in the BG era, as it's Jim's first stand-alone Topps card....His first appearance in a Topps set occured in 1977 as part of a four-player "Rookie Infielders" card....In case you were wondering, the WG era began with Jim's '87 card....A Wisconsin native and lifetime Brewer, Gantner batted .284 in 208 ABs for Milwaukee during the '79 season.
